Training session for APWA members and public agencies who are affected by the diesel emissions regulations implemented by the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and are interested in learning about Metro’s Green Construction Policy (GCP).
Metro adopted rules as a means to reduce diesel engine emissions from off-road and on-road construction equipment, as well as, generators utilized on Metro projects. Metro is currently implementing the GCP requirements on Metro administered projects. Public agencies utilizing Measure M funds are not subject to GCP compliance at this time but are encouraged to participate to learn more about their responsibilities and to help reduce carbon emissions.
This course will provide attendees with an overview of Metro’s GCP requirements and California Air Resources Board Diesel Emissions Regulations. Attendees will learn about potential health impacts from diesel emissions, Los Angeles basin air quality, ARB enforcement programs, engine standards and diesel emission control strategies, off-road and on-road vehicle regulation requirements, public agency fleet regulations, ARB’s portable equipment registration program and fugitive dust regulations.
